Mission

School Mission and Values

To build relationships within a flexible learning environment
To assist students in planning and meeting their educational goals
To promote and support authentic and lifelong learning

Black Gold Outreach is a division service that offers alternate education programs designed to address individual student needs. Two campuses within the Black Gold School Division – one in the Leduc Recreation Centre and the other in the Beaumont Community Centre – provide an inviting, flexible atmosphere that promotes student learning.

We recognize that while many students learn best in a classroom environment within a traditional school, there are those who cannot find success or reach their educational goals in such a setting. Because of challenges in their learning, in their individual nature, in their school programming, or in their personal lives; they need to access a more flexible learning environment to complete their education. We offer an alternative to studying in the classroom through self-directed learning, one of the most versatile options for earning school credits.  Our programs allow students to complete courses independently at home, at work, or at school. They have the option of working with teachers in small group seminars, in one-on-one tutorials, or by phone, Google Meet, e-mail or online.

We have a proven reputation for successfully delivering self-directed learning programs to hundreds of students for over 25 years.  We recognize that independent learners need choices and we are confident that the flexible independent study programming we offer meets that need.
